After beating Rondout Valley in the SubRegionals, all other Section 1 teams lost. We really wanted to see Section 1 teams go the distance together, but North Rockland lost and the smaller school Rye Neck-who has been following us and
calling our dugout the 'lucky dugout' lost in the last round.
The headline in LoHud for this game hurt. "Vestal blitzes TZ in Class A Regional Final" Ouch. They were very good hitters with quite a few committed to college for 2023.
The highlight of the game for me was a foul off into a trash can up the 3rd baseline. The Catcher high fived me and the umpire as well. It was a light moment in a tough game.
